CANYON, Texas –The West Texas A&M Buffaloes will make their sixth straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Baseball Postseason this weekend in Grand Junction starting on Thursday night at 8 p.m. CT against the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers at Suplizio Field.

COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES
The Orediggers are guided by first year head coach Robby Bales who was tabbed to lead the program back on August 7, 2018 following a short stint as interim head coach from May-July. CSM enters their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance with an overall record of 39-13 as they went 27-9 in RMAC play this season.

Mines is led offensively by All-Region honoree Trevor Kehe who is hitting .435 this season with 15 doubles, three triples and 18 homeruns to drive in 57 RBI for a slugging percentage of .839. Drew Hill leads the way on the hill for the Orediggers as the sophomore is 8-2 on the season with a 3.82 ERA as he has allowed 33 runs (31 earned) on 55 hits with 33 walks and 107 strikeouts in 73.0 innings for an opposing batting average of .205.

NATIONAL COLLEGE BASEBALL WRITERS TOP-25 POLL (MAY 14)
North Greenville picked up 11 of the possible 19 first place votes for a total of 466 points to move atop of the poll followed by Colorado Mesa (six first place, 455), Tampa (one first place, 415), Angelo State (one first place, 391), Adelphi (375), Azusa Pacific (370), Millersville (363), Ashland (343), Augustana (342) and UC San Diego (288) to round out the top ten. The South Central Region was represented by Colorado Mesa (2nd), Angelo State (4th), Lubbock Christian (19th), Colorado School of Mines (RV) and West Texas A&M (RV).

WT HEAD COACH MATT VANDERBURG
Matt Vanderburg has built West Texas A&M Baseball into a regional and national contender as the Norman, Oklahoma native enters his 11th season at the helm of the Buffs. He holds an overall record of 358-215 (.625) during his decade in Canyon while registering a career record of 457-282 (.618) in his 13 seasons in collegiate baseball.

D2CCA ALL-SOUTH CENTRAL REGION
Joe Corbett, the Regional Pitcher of the Year, was joined on the First Team by
Kyle Kaufman while
Keone Givens,
Dominic Yearego and
Zach Dixon were named to the Second Team. Corbett and Kaufman now move onto the ballot for All-American honors that will be announced on Friday, May 31st before the start of the DII College World Series in Cary, North Carolina. Corbett becomes the third Buff in program history to earn a Regional Player of the Year honor to join Tim Dubrule (1997) and Marshall Kasowski (2017).

BUFFS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
The Buffs are making their sixth straight NCAA Postseason appearance this weekend as they hold an overall record of 4-10 all-tine in the tournament. 2019 marks the fourth time that WT has traveled to Grand Junction for the event.
