KINGSVILLE, Texas – The #5 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M stranded 10 base runners including three in extra innings as they fell to the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in 13 frames during the Lone Star Conference series finale at Nolan Ryan Field in Kingsville on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Buffs return to Lone Star Conference action next weekend as they host the #23 Rams of Angelo State in a four-game series at Wilder Park starting on Friday afternoon at 6:30 p.m.

GAME RECAP:
The Javelinas started off the scoring in the home half of the third Giancarlo Servin lifted a two-run homerun to left field with two outs for the early lead, the Buffs responded in the top of the fourth as 
Cade Engle reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded and one out to score 
Tag Baxter to cut the lead to 2-1.
 
Keone Givens drew a walk to leadoff the fifth followed by 
Nick Guaragna getting hit by a pitch to put Buffs on first and second with no outs, Garrett Alexander entered from the pen and forced three straight outs to strand a pair of Buffs and keep the score 2-1. The Hogs added to their lead in the home half as Seth Spinn singled to right center to score Austin De Leon, 
Kyle Kaufman gunned down Spinn at third followed by a flyout to limit the damage to 3-1.
 
The Buffs tied the game in the top of the sixth inning as 
Cade Engle singled up the middle with two outs before 
Justice Nakagawa connected on a two-run homerun to left center at 3-3, 
Zach Dixon gave way to 
Dominic Yearego to start the bottom of the seventh as the senior entered and sat the Javelinas down in order. 
 
Kingsville threatened in the ninth with a leadoff single followed by a sac bunt before Yearego registered a big strikeout, the Buffs chose to intentionally walk Steven Bonuz followed by a walk to Cameron Melcher that loaded the bases but a big strikeout on a full-count forced extra innings. 
 
Keone Givens reached with one out in the 12
thwith a bunt single down the first base line followed by an errant throw on a pickoff attempt by Eric Sandoz to move Givens all the way to third, Sandoz forced an infield popup followed by an intentional walk to 
Clay Koelzer and a groundout to strand a pair and end the threat. 
 
De Leon doubled down the right field line to start the home half of the 13
thfollowed by an intentional walk to Spinn, Servin was hit by a pitch to load the bases followed by a strikeout before Pablo Hernandez ended the game with a walkoff grand slam to left at 7-3. Yearego picked up the loss (1-1) picked up the loss in relief, allowing four runs on three hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts in his 6.1 innings of work.
