CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes sent 12 batters to the plate in the home half of the fourth inning as a seven-run frame and a dominant performance on the mound by senior 
Joe Corbett lifted #6 WT to a 12-2 run-rule victory over the Cameron Aggies on Friday afternoon at Wilder Park in Canyon.
 
The Buffs and Aggies return to action tomorrow as they continue Youth Weekend with a pair of seven-inning contests starting at 2 p.m. at Wilder Park.

RECAP:
The Buffs got on the board first in the bottom of the opening frame as 
Tag Baxter lifted a ball to the warning track in right center that found its way over the fence for a ground-rule double with one out to score 
Clay Koelzer and 
Jake Pederson for the early 2-0 lead. WT added to their lead in the second as Pederson grounded out to second to score 
Justice Nakagawa followed by a Koelzer bloop double to right to run the score to 4-0.
 
The Aggies responded in the top of the third as Dillon Turney doubled to the gap in right center with two outs to score Hayden Jaco and Jaylan Prine to make it 4-2. The Buffs would put the game out of reach in the home half of the fourth as they sent 12 hitters to the plate, scoring seven runs highlighted by a 
Kyle Kaufman two-run bomb over the big wall in left to extend the lead to 11-2. The Buffs would end the game in the bottom of the seventh as Baxter singled up the middle with one out to score Koelzer for the 12-2 win.
 
Joe Corbett was dominant on the mound again for the Buffs as the senior right-hander improved to 5-0 on the season, allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and 12 strikeouts in the complete game victory.
