Balanced Attack Leads the #3 Lady Buffs Past Western New Mexico, 64-49

SILVER CITY, New Mexico – The #3 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M led by just one after a quarter of play on Saturday afternoon in Silver City, New Mexico but a 18-point performance by senior Tyesha Taylor kept WT unbeaten with a 64-49 Lone Star Conference road win over Western New Mexico at Drag's Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Tyesha Taylor who went 8-of-9 from the floor including a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe for a game-high 18 points to go along with seven blocks which ranks tied for sixth in school history in a single game, Deleyah Harris scored 13 points on the afternoon followed by Delaney Nix with 10. WT registered 12 blocks on the afternoon to tie for fourth in program history.
- Cassandra Vickery led the way for the Mustangs with 14 points as she went 6-of-11 from the floor including 2-of-3 from the free throw line followed by Sara Lopez with 12 and Tatyanna McFarland with 10, McFarland grabbed a game-high eight rebounds while Ciara Fields had four assists in the loss.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 12-of-19 (63.2%) from the floor including 2-of-6 (33.3%) from deep and 7-of-10 (70%) from the free throw line to go along with 14 rebounds (three offensive, 11 defensive), nine assists, 11 turnovers, five block and seven steals.
- Western New Mexico finished the first half going 8-of-22 (36.4%) from the field including 1-of-6 (16.7%) from behind the arc and 2-of-3 (66.7%) from the charity stripe with 10 rebounds (four offensive, six defensive), three assists, 13 turnovers, no blocks and six steals.

SECOND HALF:
- WT finished the game going 26-of-48 (54.2%) from the field including 3-of-13 (23.1%) from deep and 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the charity stripe with 34 rebounds (seven offensive, 27 defensive), 20 assists, 21 turnovers, 12 blocks and 11 steals in the win.
- The Mustangs finished the afternoon going 19-of-57 (33.3%) from the floor including 2-of-15 (13.3%) from behind the arc and 9-of-11 (81.8%) from the free throw line with 31 rebounds (13 offensive, 18 defensive), nine assists, 19 turnovers, two blocks and 11 steals.
