KINGSVILLE, Texas – The #2 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M trailed by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter on Thursday night before fighting back to cut the lead to just two before the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas escaped with an 86-84 Lone Star Conference victory at the Steinke Center to hand WT their first loss of the season and snap an 18-game losing streak to the Lady Buffs.

- West Texas A&M was led offensively by

Lexy Hightower with 23 points each followed by
Megan Gamble with 13,
Deleyah Harris grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to go along with a pair of steals while Gamble dished out eight assists on the night.
- Cloe Lane led the way for the Javelinas as she went 7-of-14 from the floor including 4-of-8 from deep and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe with 23 points followed by Brynae Thompson with 20, Bri-Anna Soliz grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 13 points for a double-double.

- The Lady Buffs went 15-of-31 (48.4%) from the floor including 1-of-12 (8.3%) from behind the arc and 4-of-10 (40%) from the free throw line to go along with 17 rebounds (six offensive, 11 defensive), nine assists, seven turnovers, one block and three steals.
- Texas A&M-Kingsville finished the first half going 10-of-25 (40%) from the field including 5-of-10 (50%) from deep and 17-of-18 (94.4%) from the charity stripe with 18 rebounds (five offensive, 13 defensive), six assists, eight turnovers, one block and two steals.
SECOND HALF:
