#10 West Texas A&M Slugs Their Way to the Program’s Seventh LSC Title Game

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The #10 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M connected on three monster homeruns and senior right-hander Kilee Halbert tossed another gem in the circle as WT rolled past #13 Texas A&M-Commerce, 8-0 in five innings during the Lone Star Conference Semifinals on Friday afternoon at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas.

The Lady Buffs will once again step between the lines with the rival Belles of Angelo State with a Lone Star Conference Tournament Title up for grabs on Saturday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas. The programs have combined for 10 LSC Tournament Championships with 17 appearances in the Title Game including last year's game thriller in San Angelo.

THE BASICS:
- Score: #10 West Texas A&M 8, #13 Texas A&M-Commerce 0 (5 Innings)
- Records: WT (39-10) / TAMUC (39-9)
- Location: San Angelo, Texas
- Venue: Mayer Field

HOW IT HAPPENENED:
The Lady Buffs got on the board first in the bottom of the opening frame as Kylee Moore crushed a first-pitch bomb to right field with one out to score Kourtney Coveney for a 2-0 lead. Moore's 24th long ball on the season ties teammate Ashley Hardin for the team lead and WT's single-season program record.

WT used the long ball again in the home half of the second as Ashley Hardin crushed a three-run bomb to left field for her 83rd career homerun while tying the Lone Star Conference single-season record with 25. Moore answered in the home run race as the junior hit her second of the game later in the inning with a two-run shot to center for her 25th of the season to run the lead to 7-0.

Allie Smith added to the Lady Buff lead in the bottom of the third inning as the senior lifted a sac fly to right field with one out to score Shanna McBroom and make it 8-0.

That's all the lead that Kilee Halbert would need as the senior moved to 21-6 on the season, allowing no runs on two hits with one walk and two strikeouts in the complete game shutout.
