With the win, the Lady Buffs improved to 17-2 on the year and 8-1 in league play. ASU fell to 6-13 overall and 1-8 in conference play.

Chontiquah White posted her seventh double-double of the season leading three Lady Buffs in double figures as she had a team-high 16 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore

Coming off their arguably their best offensive performance of the season at Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, the Lady Buffs struggled a bit Wednesday shooting just 41 percent from the field on 26 of 61. They were just 3 of 13 from beyond the arc after burying a season-high 15 triples on Saturday. WT was 14 of 18 from the line, while pulling down 43 rebounds, including 17 offensive rebounds against the Rambelles.
ASU shot 18 of 50 from the field for 36 percent. The Rambelles were 3 of 14 from beyond the arc and 11 of 13 from the line. WT held ASU to 26 rebounds with just seven offensive rebounds allowed by the Lady Buffs. WT forced 21 turnovers and the 17 offensive rebounds led to a 15-6 lead in second chance points. KeAnna Kelly led all scorers with 24 points on 8 of 14 from the field and 5 of 5 from the line with three triples for the Rambelles.
Both teams struggled out of the gate as ASU held an early 6-5 lead. WT responded with a 13-3 run and an 8-0 run during that stretch where WT forced the Rambelles into six miscues and held them scoreless for 4:58.
Another big run by the Lady Buffs – this time a 9-0 spurt - began with two buckets from senior
Haylee Oliver, who graduated from Angelo State in three years and had this season remaining of eligibility, giving WT a 28-16 lead with five minutes left in the half.
ASU hung in there with a 5-0 run of its own for a 28-21 deficit with 3:31 left. WT responded with an 8-1 run to end the half over the final 3:31 for a 36-22 lead at the break. White led the team with 10 points at intermission on 4 of 7 with six rebounds. After starting 3 of 14 from the field, the Lady Buffs heated up to 15 of 33 for a .455 clip, while ASU was 9 of 25 for a .360 average.
The Rambelles struggled out of the gate in the second half going 0 of 6 while WT built a 49-31 lead with 11:16 left. White buried a jumper giving WT a 20-point lead with 9:38 left during a 13-1 run as WT built a 60-32 lead with 6:52 left.
ASU wouldn't go away quietly, however, as the Rambelles responded with a 13-2 run cutting the deficit back under 20. WT settled for the 67-50 victory.
The Lady Buffs return home to host Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First United Bank Center.
