Box ScoreSeason StatsCANYON, Texas  –  The No. 6/7 West Texas A&M women's basketball team tied its season-high winning streak as it downed visiting Texas A&M-Kingsville 81-57 Saturday afternoon at the First United Bank Center.  With the win, WT ran its winning streak to nine games improving to 18-2 on the year and 9-1 in Lone Star Conference play.  TAMUK fell to 0-20 and 0-10 in league play.  WT head coach 
Mark Kellogg won his 50
th game at WT. 
Kellogg improved to 50-5 at WT in his second season as he became the fastest coach to 50 wins in Lady Buff basketball history.  Previous head coach Krista Gerlich needed 59 games to reach 50 wins in her second season.  
WT welcomes rival Midwestern State Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the First United Bank Center in the annual Highway 287 Challenge series.  MSU leads the series Highway 287 series 7-5 this season and handed the Lady Buffs their only conference loss back on January 7 in Wichita Falls. 
White led the way with 20 points and nine rebounds as she was 6 of 11 from the field and eight of nine from the line.  Junior Zantaya Davis had a career-high 13 points off the bench with five rebounds as she was 5 of 7 from the field and 3 of 4 from the line.  Senior 
Haylee Oliver had 11 points off the bench with a team-high four assists.  
WT shot 48.3 percent from the field on 28 of 58.  It was 6 of 18 from beyond the arc and 19 of 23 from the line.  WT out-rebounded the Javelinas 43-30.  TAMUK was led by 15 points from Micah Weaver as the lone Javelina in double figures. 
The Lady Buffs jumped out to a 10-0 lead with six early points from White as TAMUK went 0 of 3 from the field and three early turnovers.  The Lady Buffs opened 5 of 11 from the field through the first media timeout, while TAMUK was 1 of 4 as WT held a 12-3 lead with 15:48 left.  White buried two free throws out of the timeout for 10 points early. 
A triple from junior 
Madison McLain swelled the lead to 17-3 with 14:30 left in the first half.  Another triple – this time from Oliver pushed the WT lead to 24-9 with 11:10 left in the first half.  WT upped its average to 52.9 percent over the last four minutes going 4 of 6 from the field with two triples.  
Oliver drained her second triple for a 29-14 lead as the Lady Buffs made six of their last eight field goals with 7:35 left as the WT "D" held TAMUK without a field goal for three minutes.  A long range deuce from senior 
Ariel Robertson gave WT a 31-14 lead with seven minutes left.  
A bucket off a WT miscue from Kaila Chizer was the first field goal for the Javelinas since the 10:33 mark with 5:45 remaining and a 31-16 score.  McLain hit her second triple for a 36-18 with just over four minutes left in the half. 
For the half the Lady Buffs shot 17 of 33 from the field for 51.5 percent.  WT was 4 of 12 from beyond the arc and 8 of 9 from the line.  WT held a 22-11 lead in rebounding and forced TAMUK into 11 miscues leading to a 12-4 lead in points off turnovers.  White led the way with 12 points and four rebounds in the half.  Davis came into the half towards the end and scored eight points off the bench going 4 of 6 inside.  Seven of the nine players who played in the first half for the Lady Buffs scored. 
The Javelinas shot 8 of 20 from the field for 40 percent.  They were 0 of 1 from beyond the arc and 7 of 14 from the line.  Ashley Viera led the team with five points.  
White earned the "and one" for a 51-28 lead with 17:29 left in the game for her 17
th point of the game.  White scored another old fashion triple for 20 points and 54-32 lead with 15:37 left.  
A triple from Tessa Ramirez, the first of the game for TAMUK, brought the Javelina deficit under 20 points at 56-37 with 14:09 left and a timeout by the Lady Buffs.  A pair of buckets and the "and one" for Oliver, built the WT lead to 61-37 and a mini-5-0 run with 12 minutes left.  Two free throws from sophomore 
Maddison Wild swelled the run to 7-0 and 63-37 lead with 11:55 left. 
Junior 
Michaela Neuhaus' second triple of the half gave WT largest lead of the game at 72-42 with just over eight minutes left Neuhaus earned her first start Saturday since the Oklahoma Christian game on Dec. 6.
