Freshman Sarit Shenar scored two goals, both in the second half, in her first game with the Lady Buffs this season, leading West Texas A&M University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over the Southwestern Oklahoma Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Buffs were back in action after a week's break, and showed little rust, as they pounded the Lady Bulldogs by outshooting them, 19-3.
It was a successful Lone Star Conference opener for the Lady Buffs, as they opened defense of their regular-season LSC title.
Junior goalie Jamie Griffis was not very busy as she had to handle only two SWOSU shots, as the Lady Buffs controlled the ball most of the game.
SWOSU falls to 1-5-1 on the year and 0-1 in the LSC and WTAMU improves to a 3-1-0 overall, 1-0 in LSC action.
The Lady Buffs open a five-match roadtrip beginning at Durango, Colo. vs. Fort Lewis on Wednesday, September 24.
WTAMU returns home on October 10th, taking on Oklahoma City in a 1 p.m. contest, followed by the WT men vs. Oklahoma City at 3 p.m.
