Stewart and Daniel Earn USTFCCCA National Coaching Awards

CANYON, TEXAS –
 West Texas A&M's Matt Stewart and Zach Daniel added another award to their already impressive resumes on Thursday afternoon as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their annual Outdoor Track & Field National Awards.
 
Stewart was named the National Women's Coach of the Year for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Stewart led the Lady Buffs to the team title at the 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, winning four events and earning 17 All-America honors. West Texas A&M also won the team title at the Lone Star Outdoor Championships with 250 points as Stewart was named Coach of the Year.
 
Daniel was named the National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Daniel coaches the West Texas A&M distance squads as four different Lady Buffs earned All-American honors highlighted by Abigail Abugire winning the 800m National Championship to earn Lone Star Conference Outdoor Female Track Athlete of the Year honors.
