CANYON, TEXAS – It came down to the last event of the meet on Saturday but the West Texas A&M Buffaloes held on for the program's sixth consecutive Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championsip in Canyon, Texas.

Fran Bonifacic claimed a silver medal in the men's javelin to start the day, registering the fifth best mark in program history (60.71m). The Buffs added 15 more points in the men's high jump as Bonifacic finished third (1.93m) followed by
Jeremiah Bonano in fourth (1.93m) and
Emeka Nmesirionye in fifth (1.90m).

Adrian Solis registered a time of 3:59.45 to finish third in the men's 1,500m followed by
Branch Cox in fourth (3:59.63).
Mahmoud Ibrahim claimed the LSC Championship in the men's shot put with a personal best mark of 17.83m, the third best in WT history.

Emil Meggle added another trophy to the WT resume in the men's 800m as the German product ran a mark of 1:50.47.
Isaac Botsio claimed silver in the 100m dash with a time of 10.24 followed by
Kareem Small's season best time of 10.31 to finish fourth overall.

Tobias Ritter won the LSC Title in the men's 5K with a time of 14:51.97 while
Tommaso Toppi claimed silver (14:54.65) followed by
Fintan Kavanagh in fifth (15:10.16).Â

The men's team title came down to the final event of the night as the 4x400m relay squad of
Imanol Marquez, Meggle, Leonard Hortsmann and
Maximilian Kremser ran a time of 3:12.28 to finish fifth overall as the Buffs held onto the team crown by one point over Angelo State.

West Texas A&M turns their attention to the final meet of the season on May 21-23 with the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships taking place at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. Selection for the event will be revealed on Tuesday, May 12Â via a press release on NCAA.com.
