CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M claimed a medal match play victory over second-seeded UT Tyler on Wednesday morning before falling to St. Mary's in the final round of the 2026 Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championships at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Center (Par 72 – 5,997 Yards) in Rockwall, Texas.
The Lady Buffs turn their attention to the NCAA Postseason as the West Regional Championships take place May 4-6 at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.

The Lady Buffs claimed wins by

Sarah Reed during the semifinal round victory over UT Tyler. Thacker would take a five-stroke lead into the turn in the second match of the day while matching a back-nine 37 on her way to a 75 (+3) to finish five-up.
Del Valle Pena held a one-stroke lead following nine holes as the freshman shot a one-over 37 on the back nine on her way to a 73 (+1) to claim the two-up win. Reed continued her impressive run at the conference championships as the junior tallied four birdies on the front nine followed by feathers on 16, 17 and 18 on her way to a five-up win with a round of 67 (-5).

Mia Hammerschmid also tying her match with an even-par 72.
