Lady Buffs Ready for the NCAA West Regional Championships

aCANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs are set to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II West Regional Championships taking place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Pueblo Country Club (Par 71 – 5,923 Yards) in Pueblo, Colorado. Due to inclement weather the tournament schedule is subject to change.

All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top five (central), four (south), four (east) and five (west) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships. The championships will be held May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.
 
The Lady Buffs are coming off an appearance in the Lone Star Conference medal match play semifinals. Sarah Reed led the way individually for the Lady Buffs as the junior claimed All-Tournament Team honors with a 214 (-2) to finish fifth overall. The Midland, Texas native finished 56-holes of stroke play with nine birdies and 38 pars.
 
Pueblo Country Club, which opened in 1903, features scenic views of the city as well as mountain ranges and was designed by Henry B. Hughes.  The course features rolling hills with large Cottonwoods, Ponderosa Pines, Blue Spruce and Siberian Elms lining the fairways. Bunkers come into play on all 18 holes.
 
The weather forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a high of 79 degrees on Monday, but the temperatures drop significantly and the chance of rain is high on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecasts call for a high of 51 degrees on Tuesday and just 43 degrees on Wednesday. There is a 52 percent chance of rain on Tuesday and nearly a 90 percent chance of rain/snow on Wednesday.
 
Monday's schedule has been changed to 36 holes due to the threat of inclement weather  in Pueblo. The Lady Buffs will be paired with CSU Pueblo, Midwestern State and Cal State LA with a shotgun start beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT
