CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field jumps into the opening weekend of the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday as the Buffs and Lady Buffs host the West Texas Relays in Canyon, Texas.

NCAA INDOOR REWIND
The Buffs are coming off a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, scoring 23 total points as five different student-athletes earned All-American honors highlighted by
Fran Bonifacic winning the National Title in the Heptathlon.

The Lady Buffs finished second with 59 total points at the NCAA Championships, claiming seven All-American honors in individual events along with the pentathlon, DMR and 4x400m Relay.
Blessing Akintoye won the 400m National Championships while
Esther Conde-Turpin stood atop of the podium with a new school record in the pentathlon.

COMING UP
The Buffs and Lady Buffs will compete in Lubbock, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina next weekend as they will feature entries in both the Masked Rider Open and the Raleigh Relays.
