CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M junior guard
Fontaine Williams tied a season-high with 29 points on Saturday afternoon as the Buffaloes picked up a 91-87 Lone Star Conference win over the Oklahoma Christian Eagles at the Payne Athletic Center in Edmond.

West Texas A&M opened the first half with a strong offensive showing, including
Brock Mishak's early jumper and
Zach Brown's 3-pointer, setting a quick pace. The team capitalized on turnovers and fast breaks, with Mishak and
Fontaine Williams assisting in maintaining momentum.

As the half progressed, the Buffs maintained control through effective shooting beyond the arc, with contributions from
Camden Cowgill and
Kemper Jones. The visiting team excelled in rebounding, allowing them to extend their lead.

By the end of the half, West Texas A&M's ability to capitalize on Oklahoma Christian's turnovers and their own successful shooting streaks resulted in a 55–36 lead.

In the second half, the Buffs faced an early challenge as Okla. Christian reduced the deficit with a quick 3-pointer by Miles Gibson, but West Tex. A&M responded immediately with Brown's steady free-throw shooting and
James Parlow Jr.'s layup to maintain their edge. Despite Okla. Christian's attempts to close the gap, including a fast break layup by Carson Jones, the Buffs extended their lead with Cowgill's fast break free throws and Williams' layup, pushing the score to 79-75.

Entering the final minutes, the Buffs' Jones and Williams played crucial roles, with Jones securing a key offensive rebound and layup, while Williams capitalized on free throws, extending their lead. Despite a late 3-pointer by Jones cutting the margin to one, Brown's and Williams' clutch free throws in the closing seconds sealed the victory for the Buffs. The half concluded with West Tex. A&M ahead, securing a 91-87 win.

Williams led the team with 29 points, converting 12 of 13 free throws and three 3-pointers, while also recording three steals. Mishak added 15 points, shooting 7-for-14 from the field, and collected eight rebounds. Cowgill contributed 14 points, making six free throws and hitting two 3-pointers. Jones scored 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting and registered two steals.
