CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M took a two-run lead into the bottom of the ninth inning on Friday afternoon before the UT Dallas Comets plated three runs to secure a 7-6 walk-off Lone Star Conference victory in Richardson, Texas.

West Texas AM opened the game strong with
Brock Bunker drawing a walk and advancing to third on
Jacob Police's single.
Daniel Castellanos brought Bunker home with a sacrifice fly, putting the visitors up 1-0 in the first inning. In the second inning,
Zac Rackham walked and advanced to third on
Anthony Picciano's single.
Will Franklin followed with an RBI single down the right field line, extending the lead to 2-0.

Luis Reyes made a significant impact in the third inning, hitting a two-run homer to left field, scoring Castellanos and expanding the lead to 4-0. UT Dallas responded in the fourth inning after a pair of errors by West Texas AM. Alex Miller's double and subsequent scoring plays brought in two runs, cutting the visitor's lead to 4-2 by the end of the frame.

UT Dallas continued their push in the fifth inning, with Jake Amoroso and Chris Benavidez contributing RBI hits to tie the game at 4-4. In the eighth inning,
Anthony Picciano's leadoff bunt single and subsequent advance on a wild pitch set the stage for Bunker, who singled up the middle to bring Picciano home, giving West Texas AM a 5-4 lead.

Jonluke Hobdy added to WT's lead with a solo home run in the top of the ninth, making it 6-4. However, UT Dallas mounted a comeback in the bottom half, with Trent McCown's two-RBI double tying the game. Korson Hastings delivered a walk-off single, leading to a 7-6 victory for UT Dallas.

Kanon Welbourne picked up the loss (0-1) for the Buffs, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits with one walk and a strikeout in his 0.2 innings of relief.
