CANYON, Texas – Lifting West Texas A&M to a perfect opening weekend,
Jordyn De Los Santos and
Brooke Janning took home the first weekly awards of 2026, earning Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played Jan. 30-Feb. 1.

De Los Santos hit .706 (12-for-17) with a double, two triples, three home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs scored. She walked three times, posted a .750 on base percentage and slugged 1.529. De Los Santos homered and drove in three runs in wins over New Mexico Highlands, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Adams State. She also scored twice in both contests against Adams State and once versus Southwestern Oklahoma.

Janning went 3-0 in the circle with 14 strikeouts over 13 innings of shutout ball. She held her opponents to a .174 batting average and posted a 0.77 WHIP. The rookie southpaw twirled a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk in a 6-0 victory over University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Janning struck out seven and five versus Adams State and Southwestern Oklahoma in run-rule victories. She allowed eight hits, walked two and allowed just one extra-base hit in her debut weekend for the Lady Buffs. Janning also pitched in at the plate, batting .474 (9-for-17) with three doubles, a triple, six RBI and 7 runs scored.

The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA's eight regions.
