CANYON, Texas – The #10 Lady Buffs rebounded on Saturday afternoon as they registered a Lone Star Conference sweep of the Texas A&M International Dustdevils (25-22, 25-14, 25-17) at The KCB in Laredo, Texas.
 
The match began with a competitive first set. WT initiated the scoring with an effective kill by Emma Becker, assisted by Hannah Pemberton. Throughout the set, the teams exchanged points, showcasing notable plays from Aryanna Ledet for Texas A&M International and Taytum Stow for West Texas A&M.
 
As the set progressed, WT capitalized on a series of attack errors by the opposition while maintaining pressure with consistent kills from Becker and Kaycee Cavanaugh. The set remained tightly contested, with the score tying at multiple junctures. However, the Lady Buffs pulled away in the closing moments, with Cavanaugh sealing the set with a decisive kill to secure a 25-22 victory.
 
WT asserted control early in the second period against Texas A&M International. Emma Becker and Kaycee Cavanaugh initiated a scoring run that was supported by Taytum Stow's and Currie Marusak's effective attacks. This run pushed the visitors to a 10-5 lead, capitalizing on a series of errors from the home side.
 
The Lady Buffs maintained their momentum as Hannah Pemberton facilitated multiple successful plays, resulting in an extended 21-11 advantage. Despite a few points gained by the Dustdevils, West Texas A&M closed the period with decisive plays from Becker and Stow, sealing the set 25-14.
 
WT seized control in the third period, capitalizing on a series of errors by Texas A&M International to shift momentum. After trailing 3-0 early, WT responded with a steady performance, highlighted by Taytum Stow's and Currie Marusak's critical kills, leveling the score at 6-6. Key contributions from Parker Gladhill, including a block that contributed to a 10-7 lead, fueled the team's surge.
 
As the period progressed, the Lady Buffs extended their advantage, with Marusak and Stow continuing to find scoring opportunities. The team maintained their lead, reaching a 17-13 edge with effective play from Emma Becker and consistent setups by Hannah Pemberton. WT closed out the period confidently, finishing on a 6-0 run that included a service ace and blocks from Becker and Gladhill. The period ended with WT securing a 25-17 victory, strengthening their position in the match.
 
Taytum Stow led the offensive effort for the Lady Buffs with 12 kills on 17 attempts, hitting at a .647 percentage. Currie Marusak contributed 13 kills and added 14 points across three sets. Emma Becker posted nine kills and one ace, finishing with 11 points. Parker Gladhill made a notable impact on defense with five total blocks.
 
Aryanna Ledet led Texas A&M International with 18 kills on 31 attempts, achieving a .419 hitting percentage while also contributing 7 digs. Mia Molina added 8 kills and 7 digs to the effort, alongside her service ace and 9 total points. Natalie Cisneros facilitated the offense with 19 assists while maintaining a perfect hitting record, adding a service ace and a block assist as well.
 
The Lady Buffs return to the court on Friday night as they host the DBU Patriots in LSC action with first serve set for 6:00 p.m. at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box".
