Lady Buffs Welcome Canyon Product Kenadee Winfrey for 2025-26

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M women's basketball head coach Josh Prock has announced the addition of Canyon native and UNLV graduate transfer Kenadee Winfrey to the Lady Buff roster for the 2025-26 campaign.
 
"We are all very excited about the addition of Kenadee Winfrey to our basketball program, she will bring a lot of versatility to Lady Buff Basketball. Kenadee is a young lady that has the ability to score on multiple levels and she is also able to defend multiple positions as well" said Prock "The best part of Kenadee is her competitive nature; she is a natural born leader who understands the little things you have to do to win games." "
 
Winfrey returns home to the Texas Panhandle following four seasons at UNLV. She saw time in 85 games with seven starts for the Lady Rebels, averaging 14.2 minutes per game as she went 87-of-217 (40.1%) from the floor including 49-of-131 (37.4%) from behind the arc to average 2.9 points per game to go along with 190 rebounds, 76 assists, 10 blocks and 36 steals.
 
"She has tremendous basketball pedigree as well, being part of the Canyon Lady Eagle Basketball program and then competing in the Mountain West Conference over the past several years" added Prock "It has always been and will always be a priority of this program to continue to recruit the Panhandle of Texas and being able to get Kenadee back to West Texas is something we are very excited about. We know she will be a tremendous asset to us on and off the court. Please join us all in welcoming her back home!!"
 
The Lady Rebels won four straight Mountain West Conference Regular Season Championships along with three MWC Tournament Crowns to advance to three NCAA Tournament along with a WBIT Second Round appearance this past season. Winfrey also excelled in the classroom as a member of the UNLV Dean's List as well as an Academic All-District selection.
 
Winfrey registered a standout prep career for the historic Lady Eagle Basketball program, winning the 2021 State Championship under head coach Tate Lombard. She led the Lady Eagles to a pair of District Championships and an appearance in the Regional Quarterfinals in 2018 and 2020. She was named the District Co-MVP as a junior while claiming TABC and TGCA All-State honors. Kenadee was a member of the National Honor Society at CHS while also excelling on the track with All-Region selections in 2020 and 2021.

Kenadee is the daughter of Todd and Jennifer Winfrey and she has three sisters: Brylee, Abree and Sydnee. She earned a Bachelor's of Kinesiology from UNLV and plans to pursue a Master's degree in Sports & Exercise Science at WT.
