CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M continued to roll on Sunday afternoon as they picked up a pair of Lone Star Conference wins over the Cameron Aggies at McCord Field in Lawton to extend their win streak to nine games.

Kyle Micklus became the first Buff to hit for the cycle in 1,100 days dating back to Ryan Johnson accomplishing the feat on February 19, 2022 against Cameron at Wilder Park. The Waller, Texas product is the reigning NCBWA South Central Region Hitter of the Week.
The weekend series concludes tomorrow afternoon at McCord Field with first pitch of the finale set for 1:00 p.m. in Lawton.

GAME ONE
The Buffs got on the board in the top of the first inning as
Seth Ochoa drew a walk with the bases loaded to score
Elijah Batista with two outs followed by a
Josh Zapata RBI single up the middle to plate
Kory Schmidt for the 2-0 lead.

The remainder of the game was a pitcher's duel as
Nathan Scott picked up the win (2-0) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on just one hit with four walks and five strikeouts in his 4.0 innings of work.
Tai Phetluangsy claimed his fourth save, striking out three and allowing one hit over the final three frames.

GAME TWO
The Aggies started out the scoring in the nightcap as Zane Roos and Wyatt Cunningham drove in runs with RBI doubles for the early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Cameron added to their lead in the second asÂ

The Buffs responded in the top of the second inning as
Rodric Black lifted a three-run homerun to left field with two outs for the 3-2 lead. Cameron tied up the game in the bottom of the frame on a Diego Villarreal RBI single to right to make it 3-3.

WT answered again in the top of the third as Ochoa singled up the middle to drive in a pair with the bases loaded followed later in the frame by a
Ryan Camacho bases-clearing double to left center, Black would drive in Camacho with a single before a Micklus RBI triple made it 10-3. The Buffs weren't done yet as Micklus scored on an errant throw with two outs followed by a
Kory Schmidt RBI triple of his own to make it 12-3

The Buffs used the long ball to add to their lead in the fifth inning as Micklus crushed a solo shot to right field with one out for the 13-3 advantage.Â

Andrew Simone claimed the win (1-0) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on no hits with one walk and a strikeout in his 1.1 innings of relief.
