CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M couldn't get anything going at the plate on Monday afternoon as they snapped a nine-game win streak with a 6-3 Lone Star Conference loss to the Cameron Aggies at McCord Field.

The Aggies got on the board first in the bottom of the opening frame as Kyle Bigford singled up the middle with one out to plate Diego Villarreal for the 1-0 lead. Cameron extended their advantage in the second on a Villarreal RBI double to center field that score Owen Rice to make it 2-0.

Cameron added to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as Zane Roos singled thru the left side with two outs and the bases loaded to make it 4-0. The Aggies added to their lead again on a Keagan Soloman RBI groundout in the bottom of the seventh for the 5-0 lead. CU would score another run in the eighth as Bigford lifted a sac fly to left that scored Rice.

The Buffs finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the ninth inning as
Kory Schmidt cleared the bases with a three-run double to the gap in left center with two outs but a fly ball would end the game, 6-3.

Emmanuel Pena picked up the loss (0-1) for the Buffs, allowing two earned runs on three hits with three walks and a strikeout in his 1.2 innings of work.

The Buffs return to Wilder Park next weekend for Lone Star Conference action as they host the UT Permian Basin Falcons in a four-game series beginning on Friday afternoon.
