CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M snapped a four-game win streak on Thursday night as they fell to the St. Mary's Rattlers, 65-57 in Lone Star Conference divisional crossover action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
Taylor Haggan led the way for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore from Parker, Texas went 7-of-14 from the floor to tie a team-high with 14 points along with 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. 
Kyla Kane added 14 points with two boards and three assists followed by 
Randi Harding with nine points and four assists.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 23-of-58 (39.7%) from the field including 4-of-14 (28.6%) from behind the arc and 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line with 30 rebounds (seven offensive, 23 defensive), 11 assists, 15 turnovers, five blocks and five steals in the loss.
 
Raynne Malik paced the St. Mary's offense as the freshman from Ontario, Canada went 7-of-8 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe for a game-high 20 points to go along with eight rebounds. The Rattlers finished the game going 22-of-54 (40.7%) from the field including 4-of-15 (25.7%) from deep and 17-of-24 (70.8%) from the line with 40 rebounds, 12 assists, 15 turnovers, five blocks and six steals.
 
The Lady Buffs continue their homestand on Saturday afternoon as they welcome the St. Edward's Hilltoppers to the First United Bank Center with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m. on Senior Day in Canyon.
