#13 Buffs Remain Unbeaten with a 76-52 Win Over Cameron

CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M finished off their homestand with another victory on Saturday afternoon as they claimed a 76-52 Lone Star Conference win over the Cameron Aggies at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
West Texas A&M started the first half by establishing momentum early with a series of strong defensive plays, including a block by Brendan Ballard at 19:45, setting the tone. The team capitalized on turnovers, converting them into scoring opportunities, highlighted by James Parlow Jr.'s layup at 13:08, which extended their lead. The Buffs showed efficiency on fast breaks, contributing 10 points, and maintained a strong presence in the paint with 12 points.
 
The home team demonstrated effective shooting, connecting on four 3-pointers and converting nine free throws, while limiting turnovers to five. Defensively, they held Cameron to 8-for-29 shooting from the field and forced 10 turnovers, stifling their offensive efforts. West Tex. A&M closed the half strongly with free throws by Parlow at 0:06, leading 35-22 at the end of the first half.
 
The Buffs opened the second half with momentum, thanks to Parlow's fast-break dunk assisted by Fontaine Williams. WT continued to extend their lead with Ballard's offensive rebound and subsequent dunk. Defensive efforts were highlighted by Ballard's block at 5:48, maintaining a strong defensive front.
 
WT showcased efficient scoring in the paint, with multiple contributions from Brock Mishak and Kemper Jones. Zach Brown added crucial points with consecutive three-pointers in the final minutes, pushing the lead further to 76-52.
 
Mishak finished with 12 points and collected six rebounds while adding four assists. Parlow scored 16 points, converting six of his eight field-goal attempts. Ballard posted 13 rebounds and blocked three shots, contributing significantly on defense. Brown added eight points, connecting on two 3-pointers and hitting both of his free-throw attempts.
 
The Buffs hit the road next weekend as they take on the UT Dallas Comets in LSC action on Saturday afternoon with tipoff set for 3:00 p.m. in Richardson.
