CANYON, Texas – The #15 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M raced past the Justice University Lions on Friday night during the opening day of the WT Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
West Tex. A&M started strongly, using a combination of efficient shooting and pressure defense to gain an early edge.
Brock Mishak's three-pointer at 12:40 tied the score at 13, sparking a series of turnovers for Justice U. that allowed the Buffs to build momentum.
Zach Brown's fastbreak three-pointer with 1:16 left helped extend their lead as they converted 10 of 15 three-point attempts. The Buffs finished the half with a 60–30 advantage, capitalizing on 17 turnovers by Justice U.
The Buffs initiated a dominant second half with a swift steal by
Jailyn Sledge, leading to a fastbreak layup by
James Parlow Jr. at 19:31. This set the tone for a powerful offensive display, including three-point shots from
Camden Cowgill and
TJ Brown, extending their lead significantly. Justice U. struggled to keep pace, despite a few successful shots from Demetrius Valdez and Vanti Erving.
The home team maintained their momentum throughout the half, with critical contributions from
Kemper Jones, who added two three-pointers, and

James Parlow Jr. led the Buffs with 15 points, converting all six of his field goal attempts and adding three steals.
Nicholas Jett contributed 14 points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field, and recorded two steals.
Camden Cowgill scored 14 points, highlighted by four 3-pointers.
Kemper Jones added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and collected three rebounds.
The Lady Buffs conclude the weekend tomorrow afternoon as they battle the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis in a regional showdown starting at 5:30 p.m. in Canyon.
