Michael Mook has announced the addition of Laci Peskey for the 2026 campaign.

Peskey comes to Canyon following two seasons at Black Hill State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. Peskey made 64 appearances with 50 starts for the Yellow Jackets, registering a 3.66 ERA with 330 strikeouts in 340.2 innings of work as she allowed 207 runs (178) earned on 393 hits. The righty tossed 40 complete games as she picked up 30 victories including five shutouts to go along with a save. Peskey was named the BHSU Female Athlete of the Year in 2025.

The Waller, Texas product was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year while also claiming Second Team NFCA All-Region honors during the 2025 campaign. Peskey set a new BHSU record for wins in a season as the sophomore went 23-8 in the circle with a 2.32 ERA as she struck out 245 batters in 202.0 innings, she made 36 appearances with 27 starts as she finished the season with 24 complete games including three shutouts and a save.

Peskey ended her freshman season ranking inside the BHSU top-10 in seven different pitching categories, she became the first Yellow Jacket to record 130+ innings in the circle in a season since 2018. Peskey is a 2023 graduate of Waller High School and she is expected to major in Mechanical Engineering at West Texas A&M.
