CANYON, Texas – The #13 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to six games on Thursday night as they swept past Western New Mexico (25-21, 25-9, 25-18) in Lone Star Conference action at Drag's Court in Silver City, New Mexico.

The two teams traded points to open the first frame before the Lady Buffs responded efficiently. Highlighted by consecutive points from
Emma Becker and a key block by
Taytum Stow, the team pushed forward to a 17-14 lead. The set continued with a kill from
Bromli Watson and a service error from Western New Mexico, allowing the Buffs to extend the lead to 20-18. Closing strongly, the Lady Buffs capitalized on Western New Mexico errors and a final block by Stow to secure the set 25-21.

The Lady Buffs started the second set with a strong offensive push. Becker and Stow contributed with early kills, setting the tone for the visitors. A series of attack errors by Western N.M. helped the Lady Buffs build momentum, with
Kaycee Cavanaugh and
Currie Marusak capitalizing on these opportunities. WT maintained their dominance through consistent plays, marked by a service ace from
Miranda Acosta to close the set. The Lady Buffs extended their lead significantly, finishing the set with a score of 25-9.

The Lady Buffs began the third set with a balanced attack, quickly capitalizing on an attack error by Western New Mexico to initiate momentum. Becker was pivotal, registering multiple kills with assistance from Watson, helping the Buffs to maintain the lead. Midway through, Stow and Cavanaugh added to the offensive effort as WT extended their lead to a comfortable margin. As the set progressed,
Parker Gladhill and Marusak secured crucial points, while Becker continued her strong performance, sealing the set with a decisive kill. The Lady Buffs closed the third set with a 25-18 victory.

Becker led the Lady Buffs with 15 kills, posting a .500 hitting percentage and contributing 16 points in the match. Stow excelled at the net, recording six blocks and achieving a .714 hitting percentage with five kills. Watson facilitated the offense with 29 assists, adding 10 digs to her performance. Pemberton contributed defensively with 13 digs and added two assists.

Jayden Hughes led Western N.M. with six kills and six digs over three games, accumulating seven points. Brynlee Barris contributed significantly with seven kills and two blocks, totaling 8.5 points. Daphne Posthumus matched Hughes with six kills and added one block for a total of seven points. Sailor Allred did not participate, as she did not record any statistics.

The Lady Buffs close out their long road trip in Alpine, Texas on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Lobos of Sul Ross State with first serve set for 2:00 p.m. at the Gallego Center.
