Troy Whyte were honored for their efforts on the track this past weekend as they were named the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track Athletes of the Week.

Abigail Abugire
Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Abugire set a new program record in the 800 meters, running a 2:07.19 at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. She topped
Raquel Chavez's mark of 2:14.44 set at the 2024 LSC Championships. Abugire finished as runner-up in the event behind only an NCAA Division I athlete. Her NCAA Division II provisional mark ranks second in the entire country.

Meadow Gallentine
Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Â
Gallentine won the weight throw with a 19.53m (64' 0 ¾") at the UCCS Invite in Colorado Springs, Colo. Gallentine's NCAA Division II provisional throw is the second best in program history and tops in the country. Gallentine also finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 12.53m.

Troy Whyte
Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Whyte posted a 7.92 in the 60 meters at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. Whyte finished fifth overall in a field that included all other NCAA Division I athletes. His NCAA Division II provisional time ranks seventh in the country. Whyte also was a part of the Buffs' 4x400 meter relay team that recorded a 3:22.31.
