CANYON, TX- The West Texas A&M Buffs and Lady Buffs finished the WT Spring Break Open with ten first place finishes and 12 personal best performances across the two-day home meet. This was the first outdoor meet weekend coming off of the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship held this past weekend. WT had close to a full squad competing in 16 events. Â

TAKING FIRST AT HOME
There were 10 first-place finishes between the Buffs and Lady Buffs. Leading off for the first take home gold was freshman
Arrianna Allen in the discus. Allen threw for 44.26m in her fifth and best attempt.Â

Sophomore
David Richards had a run in the 110m hurdles earning first by at least a few yards and running his personal best time of 14.33 seconds. Fellow multi teammate
Gerard Bryant came away first in the javelin for a distance of 56.69m. In the throws, Luke Holcimbe took first in the shot put, outlasting his opponents by at least three meters, to hit 17.43m. Following in the field events, LSC Athlete to Watch
Joseph Oreva jumped 7.61m, his personal best outdoors jump and the 8
th farthest in WT top-10 history. Finishing up the meet was
Kenyon Mosley in the 400m hurdles to take first in 54.27 seconds, then
Harry Louradour in the 1500-meter in his personal best time of 3 minutes, 54.7 seconds.Â

For the Lady Buffs,
Jada Sewell joined teammate
Arrianna Allen in the throws with a distance of 13.83m in the shot put to claim first. Senior
Joey Zimmerman matched her personal best in the pole vault at 3.56m for first place and junior
Betty Bajika ran the 1500-meter in 4 minutes, 37.5 seconds for the top spot.Â

COMING UPÂ
 The Buffs and Lady Buffs will travel to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Masked Rider Open next weekend on March 22-23. Following the Masked Rider Open, a select group of the Buffs and Lady Buffs will travel to the exclusive Texas Relays in Austin, Texas from March 27-30.Â
