CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M took a 4-1 lead to the bottom of the seventh inning before Texas A&M-Kingsville plated four runs on their way to a 6-4 Lone Star Conference victory on Friday evening at Nolan Ryan Field in Kingsville, Texas.

The Buffs jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as
Kyle Micklus reached and moved into scoring position on a throwing error followed by passed ball and a
Ryan Camacho RBI double to left for the game's first run.Â

Kyle Perales tied up the game in the home half of the opening frame with an RBI triple to center with one out to score Garrett Thompson. WT retook the lead in the top of the fourth as
Rodric Black singled to left field with no outs to drive in
Elijah Batista followed by a wild pitch that scored Black for the 3-1 advantage.

The Javelinas looked to respond in the home half of the seventh as they knocked
Nick Marshall from the game with runners on the corners and one out, a pair of walks would push a run across followed by a three-run triple to right center by Dalton Kramer for the 5-4 lead. TAMUK added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth as Jaden Cavazos scored from third on a wild pitch with two outs to make it 6-4.

Tai Phetluangsy picked up the loss (1-1) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing one earned run on one hit with a walk in his 0.0+ innings of relief.
