MANHATTAN, KS – The West Texas A&M track and field team finish the one-day Steve Miller Invitational meet with four first place finishes at the Kansas State Indoor Track and Field Complex. WT competed against Kansas State, University of Kansas, Fort Hays State, Oklahoma Baptist and Kansas City.
SPRINTERS ON TOP
The Buffs came out on top in the 60-meter with
Isaac Botsio running 6.78 for first place. His teammate,
Jeremiah Lauzon, took first in the 200-meter at 21.33, making the run a season best for the senior.
The Lady Buffs ran for first place in the 60-meter and 200-meter as well. Senior
Leah Belfield took first in both events running 7.54 (60m) and 24.14 (200m). In the 60-meter the top three marks were ran by the Lady Buffs with Belfield leading, then
DeOndra Green (7.67) and
Amari Weatherford (7.71). Freshman,
Amari Weatherford, finished the meet with the only personal best time set in the one-day invitational. Weatherford ran 24.63 in the 200-meter.
COMING UP
The No. 3 Buffs and No. 11 Lady Buffs will compete in one week at the Lone Star Conference Championship in Norman, Okla. from February 23-24.
