CANYON. Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to three games on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a 72-66 regional victory over the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers to conclude the South Central Regional Challenge in Odessa, Texas.
 
Kyla Kane led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior guard went 6-of-10 from the floor including 4-of-4 from the charity stripe for a team-high 16 points to go along with four rebounds, one assist and a steal. Canyon product 
Chloe Callahan scored 14 points, going 5-of-7 from the floor and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc while 
Claire Graham added 12 points.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 26-of-66 (39.4%) from the floor including 5-of-18 (27.8%) from deep and 15-of-21 (71.4%) from the free throw line to go along with 38 rebounds (16 offensive, 22 defensive), 14 assists, 12 turnovers, no blocks and eight steals in the win.
 
South Dakota Mines was led by Savea Mansfield who went 7-of-14 from the floor including 4-of-5 from the free throw line for a game-high 18 points, Morning Grace Spotted Bear chipped in 15 points to go along with 12 boards for a double-double. The Hardrockers went 26-of-60 (43.3%) from the field including 6-of-22 (27.3%) from behind the arc and 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the line with 39 rebounds, 14 assists, 18 turnovers, four blocks and five steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return to the First United Bank Center on Thursday morning as they take on the Mountain Lions of UC-Colorado Springs during "Field Trip Day" with tipoff set for 11:00 a.m. in Canyon.
