CANYON. Texas – West Texas A&M sophomore forward 
Taylor Haggan scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds on Saturday afternoon to lead the Lady Buffs to a 74-65 regional victory over the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls to conclude the Lady Buff Thanksgiving Classic in Canyon.
 
The Parker, Texas native went 6-of-12 from the field including 6-of-8 from the free throw line for her first double-double of the season. 
Randi Harding added 13 points and five boards followed by 
Hollie Stalder and 
Claire Graham with 12 points each, Stalder grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double of her own.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 21-of-59 (35.6%) from the floor including 5-of-20 (25%) from deep and 27-of-35 (77.1%) from the free throw line with 49 total rebounds (20 offensive, 29 defensive), 11 assists, 19 turnovers, one block and seven steals.
 
Juliana Arago led the way offensively for the Cowgirls as she went 6-of-17 from the floor including 2-of-6 from behind the arc and 2-of-3 from the line for a team-high 16 points to go along with two boards, three assists, one block and two steals. NMHU went 27-of-64 (42.2%) from the field including 7-of-15 (46.7%) from deep and 4-of-7 (57.1%) from the line with 32 rebounds, 16 assists, 17 turnovers, four blocks and 10 steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return to Lone Star Conference action next Thursday night as they host the Cameron Aggies with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at the First United Bank Center.
