CANYON. Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M couldn't find a rhythm offensively on Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds, 74-57 in the Lone Star Conference opener at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena in Portales.
 
Claire Graham led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Tuscola went 6-of-12 from the floor including 3-of-4 from behind the arc for a team-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds. 
Taylor Haggan chipped in 13 points followed by 
Randi Harding with 12.
 
The Lady Buffs went 21-of-58 (36.2%) from the floor including 3-of-12 (25%) from deep and 12-of-14 (85.7%) from the line with 30 rebounds (eight offensive, 22 defensive), four assists, 11 turnovers, one block and eight steals. 
 
Eastern New Mexico was led by Jayla Smith as she went 8-of-11 from the field including 3-of-4 from deep and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe for a game-high 20 points to go along with nine boards, two assists and a steal. Ethe Greyhounds finished the afternoon going 30-of-63 (47.6%) from the floor including 7-of-15 (46.7%) from behind the arc and 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the stripe with 43 rebounds, 16 assists, 17 turnovers, four blocks and seven steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return to the court on Friday and Saturday as they host the Lady Buff Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center with regional matchups against Adams State and New Mexico Highlands in Canyon.
