CANYON. Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs continue their homestand this week as they welcome the Cameron and Sul Ross State to the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" for Lone Star Conference action. Wednesday night's match against the Aggies begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Friday night contest with the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. in Canyon.

STORYLINES
- West Texas A&M continues the defense of their Lone Star Conference Championships this weekend as they are the lone unbeaten team atop of the league standings
- The Lady Buffs jumped two spots to sixth in the newest edition of the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Monday afternoon
- The first nine weekends of the season have seen the Lady Buffs battle 10 Top-25 opponents with a pair of them ranking inside of the Top-5
- WT ranks 9th in the nation in attack percentage (.270), 34th in kills per set (13.58), 37th in assists per set (12.49) and 43rd in blocks per set (2.26). Taytum Stow is 27th in Division II volleyball with 90.0 total blocks while sitting 29th in blocks per set (1.23). Angelina Oliver is 25th in the nation in attack percentage (.373).
- The Lady Buffs are currently on an 11-match win streak dating back to a September 20th loss to Angelo State in Dallas in four sets. Since that match, the Lady Buffs have dropped just two of 35 sets played with nine matches going the minimum of three sets

HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
Wednesday night will feature a Halloween Costume Contest presented by the Student Life and Residential Life organizations on campus. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite costume, a postgame costume contest will feature prizes.

CAMERON
The Aggies enter the weekend with an overall record of 1-12 with a 1-9 mark in Lone Star Conference action as they fell at home to Midwestern State (3-1) and Texas Woman's (3-1) last weekend in Lawton to run their losing streak to seven matches. CU is 0-8 so far this season away from Aggie Gymnasium.

Mariana Anastasiadi is in her first season on the coaching staff at Cameron following a collegiate playing career at UAB Montgomery and Oakland City University. The Nikaia, Greece native dished out 1,850 career assists at OCU, an NAIA program in Oakland City, California. Anastasiadi was elevated from graduate assistant to head coach prior to last week's matches in Lawton.

Wednesday night will mark the 59th all-time meeting on the court between the Lady Buffs and Aggies, WT leads the series 55-3 as they have claimed the last nine meetings in a series that dates back to 1988. The Aggies are 0-27 all-time in Canyon.

SUL ROSS STATE
The Lobos enter the weekend with an overall record of 2-14 with a 2-8 mark in Lone Star Conference action following home losses to Western New Mexico (3-0) and UT Permian Basin (3-1) at the Gallego Center in Alpine to extend the SRSU losing streak to five matches.

Annika Canaba is in her first season at the helm of the Sul Ross State volleyball program. She was elevated to head coach in July of 2024 to take over the program from her father, Troy who guided the Lobos for seven seasons. Canaba was a two-sport standout in Alpine that earned All-Region accolades as a libero in 2022 as she finished her career with 1,315 digs to sit atop of the SRSU record book. She also starred for the Lobos on the softball diamond, earning American Southwest Conference (ASC) honors four times as a catcher.

Friday evening will mark the 11th all-time meeting on the court between the Lady Buffs and Lobos, the last coming 41 years ago on October 7, 1983. The Lobos are 0-3 all-time in Canyon with trips coming in 1982 and 1983.Â

West Texas A&M is fortunate to have one of the best home environments in all of NCAA Volleyball. The WTAMU Fieldhouse is more affectionately known as "The Box," is home to 21 Lone Star Conference Championships, 16 Regional Titles and four NCAA Division II National Championships.Â

The Box boasts one of the best home winning records in the NCAA on any level of competition. The Lady Buffs are 545-84 at The Box since the 1980 season for an incredible winning percentage of 86.7%.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL
The Lady Buffs claimed 23 of the possible 41 first place votes to sit atop of the poll with 674 points followed by DBU (15 first place, 665), Angelo State (two first place, 610), Texas A&M-Kingsville (one first place, 562), UT Tyler (536), Texas Woman's (481), Lubbock Christian (430), Texas A&M International (418), St. Mary's (349), UT Permian Basin (349), Oklahoma Christian (299), St. Edward's (249), Cameron (168), Eastern New Mexico (158), Western New Mexico (140), Midwestern State (130) and Sul Ross State (55).

LSC NEWS & NOTES
Six conference matches and three weekends remain for the 17 teams in the Lone Star Conference volleyball schedule with each jockeying for positions in the standings and one of the eight seeds for the LSC Tournament. West Texas A&M holds a conference-best 11-game win streak games and enters November atop the LSC standings at 10-0. Right behind WT is Angelo State and UT Tyler, both with 9-1 LSC marks and tied at second in the standings.

The first NCAA regional rankings will be released Nov. 6 (alphabetical) followed by numerical lists on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20. The 2024 Division II national tournament bracket is announced Nov. 25 via online selection show at 6:30 p.m. CT.

A NEW ERA
For the first time since the 2019 season, the Lady Buffs are under the guidance of a new head coach as
Brittany Harry was named the 16th leader of WT Volleyball on March 19, 2024.

Harry, the 2022 Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year, has been the head coach at Texas A&M International for the past four seasons, serving as the architect behind the growth of the TAMIU program. In 2022, Harry set a program record with 23 victories to lead the Dustdevils into the LSC postseason for the second time in school history. She led her team to the best turnaround in all of NCAA Division II volleyball with a +18 win differential from 2021 to 2022.

LADY BUFFS IN THE AVCA POLL
The Lady Buffs are ranked sixth in this week's edition of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Top-25 Poll. It marks the 311th time since 1986 that the Lady Buffs appear in the poll, the sixth most in Division II history. WT has sat atop of the poll 28 different times.
NEW LOOK LSC
The LSC opens its 42nd season of volleyball with a new member among the 17 teams – Sul Ross State – with schedules opening the September 5-7 weekend. The Lone Star Conference Tournament is slated November 21-23 hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. NCAA Division II Championship play begins with regionals December 5-8 and the final rounds December 12-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
