CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M battled for 40 minutes on Friday night as they fell to the Arizona Wildcats, 84-59 at the historic McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona in the final preseason tune-up for WT heading into next week's season opener.
 
Kyla Kane impressed for the Lady Buffs as the Wellington product went 6-of-11 from the floor including 2-of-5 from behind the arc and 2-of-3 from the free throw line for a game-high 16 points to go along with three rebounds and a steal.

Taylor Haggan finished the night with eight points each .
Jada Williams led the way for the Wildcats as the former McDonald's All-American went 5-of-11 from the field including 4-of-8 from deep for a team-high 15 points to go along with two steals and an assist. Paulina Paris chipped in 13 points and three assists while Bre Cunningham had eight points, six boards and four blocks in the win.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 23-of-61 (37.7%) from the floor including 7-of-18 (38.9%) from behind the arc and 6-of-10 (60%) from the free throw line with 34 rebounds (10 offensive, 24 defensive), eight assists, 24 turnovers, no blocks and 12 steals. Arizona went 30-of-62 (48.4%) from the field including 11-of-23 (47.8%) from deep and 13-of-20 (65%) from the stripe with 40 rebounds (12 offensive, 28 defensive), 15 assists, 19 turnovers, five blocks and 15 steals.
 
The Lady Buffs open their 2024-25 campaign on Friday afternoon as they host the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at the First United Bank Center, WT takes on the Yellow Jackets of Black Hills State with tipoff set for 4:00 p.m. in Canyon.
