#2 Lady Buffs Sweep Patriots for Kendra Potts 100th Career Win

CANYON, Texas – The No. 2 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M swept the Dallas Baptist Patriots on their home court at the LSC Crossover hosted by WT. The Lady Buffs rallied to finish 25-18, 25-21, 25-21 in the match. This became head coach Kendra Potts 100th win in her career and second major milestone while at West Texas A&M.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs started the first set tied 6-6 with the Patriots before breaking away to become the first to 15 points. Back-to-back kills by sophomore Taytum Stow gave the Lady Buffs the momentum to keep chipping away at points. The first set saw four blocks with two coming from middle blocker Carly Evetts and Camy Jones
The second and third sets became a battle between the Patriots and Lady Buffs with long rallies and back and forth kills. The spread offense of the Lady Buffs helped them break to 20 points first in each set. At 20-14 in the third set, the Lady Buffs had to fight to finish as the Patriots came back within three. A kill by junior Brynne Wright helped fend off the defensive prowess of the Patriots. The Lady Buffs finished the match with nine players seeing court time.

BY THE NUMBERS
Senior Carly Evetts led the way in kills for the Lady Buffs with 13 on 28 attempts and two errors hitting .393 and notched a leading five blocks. Ainsley Malis had 19 assists and just one dig short of leading the Lady Buffs but libero Bryli Contreras held down the back row with 14 digs.  The Lady Buffs had a combined three aces with Contreras, Evetts and Torrey Miller contributing one each.
