CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M couldn't overcome 19 turnovers and streaky shooting on Thursday afternoon as the third-seeded UT Tyler Patriots led wire-to-wire in a 75-54 victory during the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

Lauren Taylor led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the senior guard from Collierville, Tennessee went 7-o-17 from the floor including 4-of-10 from behind the arc for a team-high 18 points to go along with one rebound, one assists and a steal. Freshman
Hollie Stalder chipped in 11 points and two boards while
Nyalam Thabach led the way defensively with 11 rebounds to go along with five points and two blocks.

WT finished the afternoon going 16-of-56 (28.6%) from the floor including 10-of-33 (30.3%) from deep and 12-of-14 (85.7%) from the charity stripe to go along with 35 rebounds (nine offensive, 26 defensive), 11 assists, 19 turnovers, four blocks and five steals in the loss.

Martina Machalova led the way for the Patriots as she went 8-of-14 from the field including 3-of-4 from the line for a game-high 20 points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and three steals. UTT finished the game going 27-of-64 (42.2%) from the floor including 6-of-23 (26.1%) from behind the arc and 15-of-17 (88.2%) from the free throw line with 42 rebounds, 13 assists, 15 turnovers, two blocks and 12 steals.

The Lady Buffs now play the waiting game to determine their postseason fate as the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II National Championships will be announced on Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. CT via an online selection show at NCAA.com.Â
