CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M took a one-point lead into the final quarter on Friday night but a 10-1 run to start the frame by the top-seeded Angelo State Rambelles was too much to overcome during the South Central Regional Quarterfinals in front of over 3,000 fans at the Junell Center in San Angelo, Texas.

Lauren Taylor led the way for the Lady Buffs in her final collegiate contest as the senior from Collierville, Tennessee went 8-of-19 from the floor including 2-of-9 from deep and 3-of-6 from the free throw line for a team-high 21 points to go along with one rebound and two steals.
Karley Motschenbacher finished the game with 20 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Buffs went 21-of-64 (32.8%) from the floor including 5-of-30 (16.7%) from behind the arc and 18-of-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line with 30 rebounds (nine offensive, 21 defensive), 10 assists, 17 turnovers, two blocks and 10 steals in the loss.

Madeline Stephens led the Belles as the sophomore from Lubbock went 8-of-15 from the floor for 17 points to go along with 13 board for the double-double while teammate Sawyer Lloyd finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. ASU went 27-of-52 (51.9%) from the field including 1-of-7 (14.3%) from deep and 15-of-25 (60%) from the stripe with 44 rebounds, 17 assists, 21 turnovers, two blocks and seven steals.
