CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs used a 30-point performance by junior
Nyalam Thabach to pick up their first ever victory at the Rip Griffin Center on Saturday afternoon as WT outlasted the Lady Chaps of Lubbock Christian, 88-79 in a Lone Star Conference overtime thriller in front of over 500 fans in Lubbock.

Thabach finished the afternoon going 12-of-18 from the floor including a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line for a game-high 30 points to go along with 14 rebounds for her second straight double-double.
Karley Motschenbacher chipped in 16 points with nine of them coming at the charity stripe to go along with seven board while
Kyla Kane also finished in double-figures with 10.

The Lady Buffs went 31-of-56 (55.4%) from the floor including 6-of-10 (60%) from deep and 20-of-28 (71.4%) from the free throw line to go along with 40 rebounds (10 offensive, 30 defensive), 12 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and five steals.

Grace Foster paced the LCU offense as the Childress product went 9-of-15 from the floor including 3-of-5 from deep and 8-of-9 from the free throw line for a team-high 29 points to go along with 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. The Lady Chaps went 27-of-61 (44.3%) from the field including 10-of-16 (62.5%) from behind the arc and 15-of-20 (75%) from the stripe with 24 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 turnovers, four blocks and nine steals.

The Lady Buffs now turn their attention to defending their Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship next weekend as the quarterfinal round will take place on Thursday at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Seeding information and game times will be announced by the league's offices later today.
