CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M dropped their regular season home finale on Thursday night as the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a 71-60 Lone Star Conference divisional victory in front of over 1,600 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
Nyalam Thabach led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Boise, Idaho went 8-of-16 from the floor including 1-of-2 from deep and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for a game-high 20 points to go along with eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Karley Motschenbacher and Lauren Taylor chipped in 12 points each as Motschenbacher grabbed 10 boards to go along with three assists and two steals for the double-double.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 23-of-54 (42.6%) from the field including 3-of-15 (20%) from behind the arc and 11-of-14 (78.6%) from the free throw line to go along with 31 rebounds (seven offensive, 24 defensive), seven assists, 12 turnovers, seven blocks and six steals.
 
Maci Maddox paced the LCU offense as the Lubbock product went 8-of-11 from the floor including 2-of-2 from the charity stripe to go along with five rebounds and two steals. The Lady Chaps finished the game going 26-of-57 (45.6^) from the field including 5-of-14 (35.7%) from deep and 14-of-17 (82.4%) from the free throw line to go along with 33 rebounds, 11 assists, nine turnovers, no blocks and five steals.
