CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M struggled from the floor on Saturday afternoon in Silver City, New Mexico as they shot just 31% from the field in a 59-52 Lone Star Conference divisional loss to the Western New Mexico Mustangs at Drag's Court.

Kyla Kane led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the freshman from Wellington went 4-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-6 from deep and 5-of-6 from the free throw line for a game-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds, three assist, one block and one steal.

The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 18-of-58 (31%) from the floor including 4-of-16 (25%) from deep and 12-of-18 (66.7%) from the free throw line with 28 rebounds (eight offensive, 20 defensive), nine assists, 11 turnovers, one block and seven steals.

The Mustangs were led by Sydney Wright as she went 6-of-17 from the field including 2-of-10 from deep for a team-high 14 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. TAMUK finished the game going 22-of-49 (44.9%) from the floor including 6-of-16 (37.5%) from behind the arc and 9-of-16 (56.3%) from the free throw line to go along with 30 rebounds, 11 assists, 17 turnovers, two blocks and five steals.

The Lady Buffs return to the First United Bank Center on Thursday night as they host the St. Mary's Rattlers in LSC action with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. in Canyon.
