CANYON, Texas – The No. 5 Lady Buffs finish in four (23-15, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16) against the UT Permian Basin Falcons this afternoon. WT is now 5-1 in Lone Star Conference play and tied for third with Angelo State. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs started with a lead in every set but the first with the Falcons finishing strong in the last five points. The Lady Buffs stuck with the Falcons point for point but a hitting error and a Falcons kill would finish the first at 23-25.  
 
The second set saw the Lady Buffs go up by five points at 11-6 with a team effort in scoring. 
Torrey Miller, 
Emma Becker and 
Brynne Wright would all contribute a kill for a 4-0 run with an ace brought in by senior 
Emma Patterson. Patterson would start the second set as libero for the Lady Buffs and continue defending the back row in that role for the remainder of the match. 
 
The third set was similar to the second with a large lead early on for the Lady Buffs. The Falcons would come back within on point at 18-17 before the Lady Buffs finished to 25 points first.  
 
The fourth set was when the Lady Buffs became untouchable. They kept the lead and did not let up for the Falcons. All sides of defense came alive with back row plays from setter 
Blair Moreland, 
Bryli Contreras and Patterson. 
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Senior 
Torrey Miller led in kills for the Lady Buffs with 20 on 48 attempts and four errors to hit .333. 
Ainsley Malis led the offense with 26 assists and 
Bryli Contreras led defensively with 18 digs. Evetts and Contreras each had two aces and 
Camy Jones set a career high seven blocks in the match.  
 
MILESTONES
	- WT leads the series all-time against the Falcons (63-28)
- Camy Jones led WT blocking with a career high (7) block assists
- Torrey Miller has back-to-back double-doubles this weekend making it her 51st double in her career (20 kills, 12 digs)
- Miller matches a season high record in points (20) that Carly Evetts set on Sept. 23 vs UT Tyler 
COMING UP
The Lady Buffs will host Lone Star Conference play this upcoming weekend during WT homecoming week on Friday, Oct 13 and Saturday, Oct. 14. 
Friday will be 'Paint the Floor Pink' promotional night where fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness month. Streamers will be thrown out on the first point of that match.
