CANYON, Texas – The No. 5 Lady Buffs swept the Midwestern State Mustangs (25-12, 15-13, 25-17) in front of a booming pink crowd at home in The Box Friday night in celebration of the 'Paint the Floor Pink' Breast Cancer Awareness match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs started strong in the first two sets taking an early lead in each. WT would go on to outscore the Mustangs and reach 20 points before their opponents made it to 10. The first set was clean on both sides with serve receive passing well but offensively the Lady Buffs outpaced the Mustangs in kills hitting .429 against .083.
The third set saw more action with MSU taking an early lead at 4-6 against the Lady Buffs before coming back to tie at 9-9. WT saw action from all 20 players in the match with everyone contributing in some way on the court. Junior middle blocker

Carly Evetts. Three Lady Buffs put up 5 plus kills with zero errors on the night those being
Brynne Wright (9 kills),
Camy Jones (7 kills) and
Kelsey Carpenter (6 kills).
The Lady Buffs outscored in every statistical category against the Mustangs with only six errors as a team on 98 attempts hitting .469 altogether.

Emma Becker led in kills for the Lady Buffs with 11 on 16 attempts and 1 error to hit .625.
Ainsley Malis led the offense with 27 assists and
Bryli Contreras led defensively with 17 digs.
