#5 Lady Buffs Extend Win Streak to Ten Against the Eagles

CANYON, Texas – The No. 5 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs defeated the Oklahoma Christian Eagles (25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 25-17) in four on Saturday afternoon in The Box. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs had depth to their sidelines as 18 players saw court time in the match today against the Eagles. The starting six for the Lady Buffs started with Miller, Becker, Wright, Malis, Stow and Evetts with Contreras as libero. 
 
The Lady Buffs started up three out of the four sets with only dropping the third set by two points. In that third set, the Lady Buffs were down by 7 points as the Eagles scored 20 points to the Lady Buffs 13. WT would go on a 10-5 run to eventually drop the set 23-25. 
 
Offensively the Lady Buffs hit .261 as a team against the No. 1 LSC blocking team. The Eagles outpaced the Lady Buffs, traditionally a dominant blocking team, by four blocks making it a first this season for WT to trail in blocking. 
 
Sophomore Taytum Stow hit the highest percentage at .476 with no errors in the third set, almost hitting a near perfect percentage. Stow would go on to finish with 12 kills on 21 attempts with only two errors. Malis had a 30+ match assists for the fourth time this season. Defensive specialist Emma Patterson was two digs shy of hitting double-digit digs for the second night in a row. 
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Sophomore Emma Becker led offensively with 13 kills on 34 attempts with 4 errors hitting .265. Ainsley Malis led the offense with 33 assists while Bryli Contreras put up 26 digs. Torrey Miller and Contreras each had two aces in the match. Taytum Stow led with 4 blocks and tied for most points (14) with Becker.

The Lady Buffs have produced 102 Great Clips blocks at home in The Box.
