CANYON, TX- The No. 5 nationally ranked Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M (15-2, 5-1 LSC) will host the Midwestern State (3-14, 0-5 LSC) and the Texas Woman's Pioneers (12-4, 4-1 LSC) this weekend in The Box This will be week four of Lone Star Conference play. WT will face MSU on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and TWU on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
The match vs MSU on Friday, Oct. 13th will feature a 'Paint the Floor Pink' promotion for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and be ready to throw out pink streamers for the first WT point.
LIVE COVERAGE
A paid-for live stream and free stats will be provided by the WT Athletic Communications department. All LSC matches will be aired on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.

IN THE POLLS
The #5 Lady Buffs are the only LSC program represented in the national standings and have been in the top five in the nation for the past six weeks. Angelo State and Dallas Baptist are receiving votes while three RMAC teams are ranked with MSU Denver (6th), Colorado Mesa (10th) and Regis (11th).
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
MIDWESTERN STATE (Oct. 13 | 6 PM)
The Mustangs are led by second year head coach Stephanie Radecki. Overall the Midwestern Mustangs are sitting 0-5 and looking for their first conference win this weekend.
The Mustangs are led by junior outside hitter, Riley Rabedeaux who is averaging 2.85 kills per set. Alayna Guerrero runs the offense with an average of 6.98 assists per set while sophomore Taygon Jones leads the backrow with 4.50 digs per set.
TEXAS WOMAN'S (Oct. 14 | 2 PM)
The Pioneers are led by eighth year head coach Jeff Huebner. TWU is stting in fourth place right behind Angelo State and WT with a 12-4 overall record and 4-1 conference record.
The Pioneers are being paced by sophomore outside hitter Tori Woods with 165 kills, followed closely by Kady Hansen (143) and Cara Pool (137). The balanced offense is dished out by setters Grace Reynolds with 5.60 assists per set and Kiana Reed with 4.85 assists per set.
Libero Luna Franca is holding down the backrow with 4.29 digs per set and the blocking is being led by Kady Hansen (0.89 per set).
LAST TIME OUT
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs went 2-0 last weekend when they defeated Angelo State and UT Permian Basin in four sets each, respectively. The Lady Buffs handed the Belles their first LSC loss of the season.
AROUND THE LONE STAR
The Lady Buffs go into week three of Lone Star Conference play sitting in a tie for third place with Angelo State. The two undefeated teams remaining are University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in first (6-0) and Dallas Baptist in second (5-0).
The Lady Buffs have only dropped a match to Dallas Baptist in the LSC, and are the only team in the LSC to only have two losses on their overall record.
WT HEAD COACH KENDRA POTTS
Kendra Potts begins her fifth season at the helm of Lady Buff Volleyball with an overall 106-22 (.828) record and 58-11 (.840) in league play. Potts led her alma mater to the program's 4th NCAA National Championship after capturing the South Central Regional title to become the sixth head coach in program history to guide WT to the Elite Eight. Coach Potts was named the AVCA Division II National Head Coach of the Year following her 33-4 record and 26 game winning streak for the 2022 season.
WT HOME DOMINANCE
WT houses one fo the best home environments in the country across all of NCAA volleyball. The WTAMU fieldhouse, best known as "The Box" is home to 21 Lone Star Conference Championships, 15 regional titles and four NCAA Division II National Championships. At "The Box" the Lady Buffs are 532-83 since 1980 for an incredible winning percentage of .865.

WT Athletics proudly announced a new state-of-the-art court for the historic home of Lady Buff Volleyball thanks to a generous gift from BritKare Home Medical that highlighted the 2021 season. ¬BritKare Court at The Box features a top-line Taraflex court surface that is widely used in Division I arenas, professional volleyball and was most recently featured at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
UP NEXT
The Lady Buffs will travel to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State for a mid-week match on Tuesday, Oct. 17 then will continue onto Lone Star Conference play against University of Arkansas Fort Smith and Oklahoma Christian at home in The Box.
