- AFCA Division II Top-25 Poll
CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes have been tabbed 23
rd in this week's edition of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Tuesday afternoon by the association's offices in Waco, Texas.
Defending National Champion Ferris State picked up 28 first place votes to sit atop of the poll following a 36-20 victory over Central Washington in the season opener. Northwest Missouri State ranks second with 706 points followed by Valdosta State (686), Grand Valley State (667), Shepherd (608), Angelo State (582), West Florida (524), Harding (509), Bowie State (500) and West Georgia (475) to round out the top ten.
The Buffs picked up a 44-6 victory last Saturday night in Canyon at Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium over the then #17 Western Colorado Mountaineers. WT hits the road this weekend as they travel to Alamosa, Colorado to take on the Adams State Grizzlies with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT at Rex Stadium.
