CANYON, Texas – Head cross country coach
Zach Daniel has announced that the program will run its 2022 overnight summer camp from July 17-21 on the campus of West Texas A&M.  The camp is open to student-athletes from ages 15-18 with the price set at $400 per participant.Â
Â
The camp gives students a pre-college experience that includes training like collegiate athletes on WT's championship level 5K-10K cross country course, "The Range."Â Â Other training sites include the WTAMU Track & Field Complex, Palo Duro Canyon trails, and other scenic road courses.Â
Â
In addition, there will be lectures and videos covering the mechanics, physiology of endurance training, training techniques, recovery tools and other components essential to success in cross country. Each runner can be given a personal evaluation and suggestions for continued progress in their distance competition.
Â
Campers are required to bring running shoes, cross country spikes, running and casual apparel as well as overnight utilities and toiletries.  Runners will stay in the University's residence halls while meals will be prepared and served in the dining hall.Â
