WT Baseball Remains Fourth in the South Central Regional Rankings

CANYON, Texas – 
The West Texas A&M Buffaloes remain fourth in the South Central Regional Baseball rankings announced on Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA's headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. 
 
Colorado Mesa jumped back into the top spot followed by Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M, UT Tyler, St. Edward's, Lubbock Christian and MSU Denver.
 
The winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last four spots being filled by at-large selections. The official announcement of the NCAA Division II Championship field will be made on Sunday, May 15th via an online selection show at NCAA.com. 
 
The top six teams in the South Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on May 19-21 hosted by the top two overall seeds in a double-elimination event, those two winners will advance to a best-of-three series in the South Central Super Regionals on May 27-28 at the highest remaining seed. The Division II College World Series will take place on June 4-11 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
 
The Buffs continue their postseason run on Thursday afternoon as they open up the double-elimination portion of the 2022 Lone Star Conference Championships against the sixth-seeded St. Edward's Hilltoppers with first pitch set for 2 p.m. at Foster Field in San Angelo, Texas.
