CANYON, Texas – The #13 Buffaloes couldn't overcome the big inning by the St. Edward's Hilltoppers on Sunday afternoon as WT dropped the Lone Star Conference series finale on Senior Day at Wilder Park, 18-5.

The Hilltoppers jumped out to an early lead as Stacey Bailey singled to right center with one out to drive in Turner Olson before the Buffs forced an inning-ending double play to keep it at 1-0. The Buffs responded in the home half as
Eric Ortiz lifted a two-run homerun to center field with two outs followed by a
Nollan Koon RBI double to the gap in right center for the 3-1 lead.

SEU tied up the game in the top of the second as Morgan Allen doubled down the left field line with two outs at 3-3. WT answered in the home half as
Ryan Johnson singled up the middle to drive in
Izaiah Madrid to make it 4-3. Jake Hahn tied the game up in the top of the third inning as the senior lifted a solo homerun the other way to left field to leadoff the frame.

Eddy Savoie gave the Buffs the lead again in the bottom of the third with an RBI double to the gap in right center to score
Bryant Bailey for the 5-4 lead. SEU used the long ball again in the top of the fourth as Carlo Figueroa lifted a solo shot to left to start the inning followed later in the frame by an Olson two-run bloop double down the line, Bailey singled up the middle to drive in another followed by a Guilio Monello two-run double to left for the 10-5 lead.

Olson drove in his third RBI of the afternoon in the fifth with a single up the middle followed by a Hah RBI single to plate Olson to extend the lead to 12-5. Monello registered his second RBI double of the game in the top of the sixth to drive in Josh Graham. SEU extended their lead to double-digits in the seventh as Hahn scored on a passed ball followed by a Graham RBI single to right, Allen would clear the bases with a three-run triple to the gap in right center to make it 18-5.

Maddux Hoaglund picked up the loss (4-1) for the Buffs, allowing eight runs (six earned) on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts in his 3.0 innings of work.
