CANYON, Texas – The #7 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M trailed by just two heading into halftime but a big second half by the #9 Spartans lifted Tampa to a 67-51 victory on Monday afternoon at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center to conclude the Tampa Holiday Classic.
 
Nyalam Thabach led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as junior from Boise, Idaho went 6-of-13 from the floor for a team-high 12 points to go along with 13 rebounds, one assist and four blocks for her first double-double of the season. 
Lauren Taylor also finished in double-figures as the junior went 5-of-11 from the floor including 1-of-6 from deep for 11 points to go along with four boards, two steals and two blocks.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 22-of-64 (34.4%) from the field including 4-of-20 (20%) from behind the arc and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line to go along with 39 rebounds (nine offensive, 30 defensive), nine assists, 12 turnovers, six blocks and five steals.
 
Sydney Kin led the way for the Spartans as the Carey, Ohio product went 8-of-20 from the floor including 2-of-3 from the charity stripe for a game-high 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Tampa finished the game going 28-of-64 (43.8%) from the floor including 6-of-9 (66.7%) from deep and 5-of-8 (62.5%) from the free throw line to go along with 39 rebounds (six offensive, 33 defensive), 15 assists, eight turnover, three blocks and seven steals.
 
The Lady Buffs enter the holiday break with an overall record of 10-2 as they return to Lone Star Conference action on Friday, December 30
th against the Midwestern State Mustangs with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
